The Vineyard Sanderson Winery is the winemaker for Glenmoira wines and was established in January 1999 as a boutique winemaker. It is located in an established vineyard near Hastings. The winery was set up to produce a small range of premium wines from Hawke's Bay grapes. The first wines to be released under the Sanderson name became available in November 1999. The winemaking philosophy is to concentrate on making the best wines possible, in styles and from grapes, which reflect the quality and diversity of grape growing and winemaking in the Hawke’s Bay region. The winemaker, Ken Sanderson, has a long history in winemaking in commercial wineries and in his own winery.
